Activity Monitor showing 63.5 % CPU for nsurlsessiond as top item on list .

I upgraded my MacBook Pro - 2012 ,13 " about 2 weeks ago to Catalina .

I have noticed a slight increase in temp on the laptop & shorter battery

life since the upgrade . I have read most of the comments & recommendations

related to the overheating problems/fans running & resolutions.

My ?/ concern .... the highest item on my % CPU list is 63.5% - nsurlsessiond , followed

by a 42.8 % - root , and a 38.4 % - root .

Is the 63.5 % CPU- nsurlsessiond something that can be reduced & if so how ?

nsurlsessiond —

process that is used by iCloud to sync iCloud Drive/Photos/Contacts/etc between your devices and the iCloud server.

Anything that uses iCloud Drive - including third party applications - might be implicated.

You can try signing out of iCloud to test, and signing back in as trouble shooting method to resolve issue

Sign out of iCloud on your ...Mac

When I signed out of iCloud , then went back to % CPU on Tracking Monitor, nothing changed on the readings.

( I only had contacts & notes toggled on in the APP 's categories under iCloud drive.)

When I went back & enabled iCloud drive , it started activating all the APP's & then the laptop

got noticeably warmer immediately & the fans kicked on . I then toggled off all the APP's

except notes & contacts & everything calmed down.

So could there be something else causing the 63.5% CPU - NSURLSESSIOND ?
