When using dial pad, numbers don't space properly

iOS 13, iPhone 11 Pro

When I use my dial pad on my iPhone, the numbers do not display in the US format.

Makes it very hard to know when you are done typing.

I have tried with and without dial assist enabled.

I have rebooted the iPhone.

We were in Egypt earlier in the year and had our T-Mobile eSIM in and the local physical SIM in as well.

The local SIM is no longer in and cellular only shows one plan, T-Mobile.

OK figured it out.

So this is what happens with dual SIMs.

When we landed at Boston we just popped out our old Egyptian SIMs. That is why the number formats stayed weird.

Should have gone in, toggled default lines to the eSIM, it would then say do you want us to update your contacts, click yes.

I didn't have those SIMs anymore so I popped in a random SIM and set it up telling the iPhone to use the eSIM for voice and data, turn off the physical SIM and pop it out.

All is well now.

Hope this helps someone in the future (if we ever get to travel again).

Update, restored my iPhone to factory settings, number dialing correct.

Restored my iPhone using my backup, back to dialing incorrect.

T-Mobile had me remove the cellular plan from my wife's phone and then add it back to the eSIM.

Her dialing issue did not go away doing that.

Don't know if it is a bug or if there is a setting somewhere that would fix it.

Wish I could go into an Apple Store to see a genius.
