Why does my watch emit this annoying tone, repeatedly when charged? This happens at night despite do not disturb. I have read that this is due to the plastic charger, not the stainless steel version...? I wasn’t aware of two types. If this is so, why doesn’t Apple supply a correct plastic charger or update software to remove this tone?

Do Not Disturb should turn those sounds off. You can also try turning off sound completely or use Silent Mode: Change the audio and notification settings on your Apple Watch
