I have tried a few times, but something in Bootcamp is not working quite right, because I keep getting stuck at the point of installing Windows 10 onto the Bootcamp partition.
This is the error that I get. I did try to reformat the partition as GPT but to no avail.
How can this be fixed?

Your Mac does not fully support EFI Boot. You need to choose the Windows icon, not the EFI Boot icon.

it is here that things go wrong and the instructions confusing. Bootcamp used to restart and open the Windows installer, I remember that was the case. But after Catalina,, a very quick message blink saying: “no bootable disk Found ”, and the screen stays black. You then need to continue the Windows installation, by restarting the Mac, hold the option key, and select Windows instead of EFI boot.

The newer macOS version (Catalina and Mojave) will do automatic installation on 2018 and later Macs. On older models, see Install Windows on your older Mac using Boot Camp - Apple Support, which (under Mojave) shows the formatting steps as shown in this specific link - Install Windows on your older Mac using Boot Camp - Apple Support.
Did you manually select EFI Boot from the DVD/USB ?
yes, That works.
in the past Bootcamp would automatically install windows.
now you must install it manually by pressing the option key at startup, and I never bothered selecting the Windows partition, I kept selecting the EFI installer, as it was suggested more than once.

i am so mad that I deleted the windows partition to do a clean install.
tonite I will try whether Mojave will let me do it.

the installation goes as far as entering the Windows 10 Key, and then the pop up appears saying that Windows cannot be installed on this disk. (See picture earlier)
