Auto Brightness setting mismatch on 2018 MacbookPro 13"

In System Report it say "Automatically Adjust Brightness = No".

In System Preferences, Display. "Automatically Adjust Brightness = Ticked yes.

Why are these 2 places showing different results?

Can someone explain the diferences to these 2 option? Are they referencing the same component?

How do I maintain my manual brightness setting? I have a 2021 14" MacBook Pro running MacOS 12.2.1 In system preferences > displays, I have unchecked "automatically adjust brightness" and "True Tone" I then manually set the brightness for my display. If I then put the computer to sleep, close the lid or turn it off, then wake it up or start it again, the brightness setting is back at the original default setting. So, everytime it wakes up I have to reset the brightness manually. How do I get it to maintain my manual brightness setting?

No brightness key on new MacBook Pro I purchased new MacBookPro (13 inches, M2, macOS Monterey). Old MacBookPro used to have Brightness adjustment key (F1, F2) however new MacBookPro doesn't. It seems the only ways to adjust Brightness manually are (1) system preference -> display (2) use the bar (3) use the slider icon on the menu bar. Is there short cut to adjust brightness by using keyboard? I have no idea why they remove F1, F2 brightness adjustment key, it was so helpful.
