AirPods Battery Display Keeps Changing

The battery display for my AirPods 2 keeps changing each time I open the case. For example, they’ll be fully charged, but left one might show 16% and the right one is 87%. Then when I take them out, the percentages change randomly. When I put them back in, close the case, and open it again, the display shows completely different numbers. I’ve tried resetting the case, and it works, but then when I open it later it changes again. Please let me know what I can do to fix it! Thank you!
