iPad Safari: "A problem repeatedly occurred on" crash

Hello,

I have an iPad Gen 6 running iOS 13.4.1. When surfing the web using Safari I frequently get an error saying that "A problem repeatedly occurred on <Web site URL>" and the page fails to load.

Once I get that error it appears nearly every time I try to load a new page, regardless of what website I'm accessing. So Safari in essence becomes unusable. The only solution is to restart the iPad, which is very annoying to have to do.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Power off iPad, and power it on again.
  2. Use Safari to surf the web and notice that it works fine initially.
  3. After some time (usually 1-2 days) notice that Safari starts reporting errors saying "An problem occurred with this webpage so it was reloaded". Also notice that the page is reloaded one or more times until it is displayed.
  4. Soon after 3) has occurred (usually within 1-30 minutes), when trying to access websites there is another error displayed saying "A problem repeatedly occurred on <Web page URL>" and the page fails to load.
  5. Once the error in 4) has occurred, it appears nearly every time when trying to load a new page, regardless of website. So Safari in essence becomes unusable.
  6. Continue trying to surf the web using Safari, and notice that the issue becomes even worse so that Safari crashes and closes down.
  7. Restart the iPad, and notice that surfing the web works fine again. After about 1-2 days, the problem in 3) starts occurring again and the problem cycle repeats.

Has anybody else experienced this problem? I've even tried to re-install the latest iOS from scratch on the iPad using iTunes but the problem still occurs.

Hello,

Try resetting iPad's settings in Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. Be certain you do not select Erase All Content and Settings as this will erase all of your information. It is a good idea to perform a backup of your iPad prior to resetting its settings.

Thanks for the response! Have you tried this yourself so you know if it works?

Because I've already tried doing a full iOS upgrade of the device using iTunes. I.e. erasing the SW on the iPad completely, and re-installing iOS from scratch on it. This includes erasing the settings on the device. That did not help. So is there any reason to believe that just resetting the settings on the iPad will help?
