Page numbers no longer work.

I've been keeping a long record for the last three years, one document per month. Page numbers have followed one document to the next. With the last Pages update, this no longer works. I try to start on page 1852, and rather than number the next pages 1853, 1854 etc., it numbers them 2852, 3852... Help!

With Pages 10, your document probably automatically launched with thumbnails present, but if it did not, select Page Thumbnails from the View menu. Click on the thumbnail that represents the page where you want to start numbering at 1852. This should alter the normal right-panel view to the Section view that previously appeared in the Document panel. Now, you can set your Start at: page numbering. Click anywhere in the document body, and the Format panel will be restored.

Hi Lorelei,

You could write yourself a note as a recurring event in Calendar, and have it send you an email notification of the 'event' near the end of each month. Then, at the end of the project (or when you're certain you'll remember the details), delete all future occurrences of this event (two click, maybe three on the last 'event' listing in Calendar).

Alternate means: Save Viking's post as a reminder. Put the name of the file, and its location in an unused header of footer box of the document you're working on. (disadvantage: You'll need to remember to delete that header/footer info when you are printing or otherwise distributing the document).

Regards,

Barry
