HEIC to JPG

Have a new iPhone and an old Mac (running OS 10.10.5) and need to convert .HEIC image files to JPG for use on Mac.

Mac Pro, OS X 10.10

There is settings on the iPhone so that it will convert the HEIC images to .jpg when transferring to a Mac. There is another option on the iPhone to save the pictures in .jpg format instead of HEIC.


Open the "Settings" app and scroll down to "Camera". The two settings I mentioned above are:

"Keep Normal Photo" and if you click "Formats" you will see an option for "Most Compatible".
