Airplay connection error : error - 6709 unable to connect

Hi,

I've been unsuccessful with using airplay to connect my macbook pro and ipad pro.

I keep getting an error message saying unable to connect to my ipad with an error code ~6709.

I've tried these things so far:

  • both devices are signed into the same icloud acc.
  • rebooted both devices
  • both have updated softwares
  • bluetooth and wifi are both on

Does anyone have an idea as to why this might be happening? :)

Thanks!!

MacBook Pro 16", macOS 10.15

Have a look at this - Use your iPad as a second display for your Mac with Sidecar – Apple Support

The best way to do it is.

On your Mac go settings, open display, at the bottom of the page it says, "show mirroring options in the menu bar when available" click that. Then on the top right of the screen in the bar there should be a image which looks like an iPad/tv screen, click it, then it should say connect to iPad, press it and sidecar should work,

Make sure bluetooth is on, on both devices.

I hope that helps,

I am really not sure what the issue is, as your running the right devices.

I was lucky when I did sidecar it worked straight away.

I googled Apple 6709 error and loads of threads come up. So might be worth reading them.

If not contact Apple Support and they can go through some problem solving stuff over the phone.

Sorry I couldn't help anymore, its difficult when you don't have the device in front of you so you can see the issue.
