Mail not syncing over all devices

My iMac and MacBook Air are syncing mail with each other; my iPad and iPhone are doing likewise with each other but are not syncing with the other two? There are sent emails in the iPad and iPhone which were deleted from the iMac/MacBook Air 2/3 days ago. What do I need to do to have Mail syncing on all 4 devices like it used to do. All software is up to date. All have the same Apple ID and on the same network.

iPad Air 2, iPadOS 13

That wasn't an "option" you were supposed to choose. It was a directive for you to accomplish. Look at what Mail is using for each mailbox by clicking the popup menu next to the mailbox label in the Mailbox Behaviors tab for each account.

In this screenshot, the Cox SentMail folder on the server is being used. It is not using the Sent folder stored locally in "On My Mac."

Any chance you can answer my question about the mailboxes?

If you file an email into a folder, where is the folder? In your iCloud account or on one of your devices.l

If you file a message to a folder on your iCloud account, then it should be available to all.

If you file a message to a folder on one of your devices, then it won't be available to other devices.

I only use my iCloud email address and all my emails are set up previously to be kept on iCloud ie not on my iMac so I can access my files on the move. If I deleted an email on my laptop, it was deleted on all the other devices too. Now it doesn't. If I filed an email to a folder on my iPad or iPhone, it was in that folder on my desktop and "disappeared" off the iPad or iPhone because it had been filed. Now they don't. There are items in a folder on the laptop and desktop which are still showing in the "sent" folder on my iPad and iPhone.

I feel that you're bordering on being a bit rude? As I've just explained to Old Toad (who comes over much nicer), my iMac has this afternoon been overhauled by Apple.

Under their patient instruction, we tried various solutions to remedy a whole string of problems I've been experiencing with this iMac since I bought it in May 2019. Eventually it was decided that we should restore it back to factory settings. Accordingly, I erased its HD completely, re-installed the OS and then restored my data from the Time Machine Back up disk.

So, sorry I didn't reply to you immediately - apart from having no computer to do so.

And I think I answered your last question with the info I gave you earlier. All my folders are on my iCloud account.
