Email won't sync between MacBook and iPhone/iPad after recent Mac OS upgrade

There was a recent upgrade to MacBook OS software and now the Apple email application will not sync between my Mac and iPhone or iPad. I read and deleted lots of emails on my Mac and they still appear on the other devices. I'm running Ventura 13.5.1 software on the MacBook.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 13.5

Hmmm....

Mail.app?

iCloud?

third party?

For problem accounts the go to way to sort things out is to delete the account(s) from the Mail.app, then add it back.

Note—

IMAP accounts stay on the server, so no local loss, when you re-sync

POP accounts download and remove from the server—therefor save your inbox/sent box if you want them

“On My Mac" is just that, local folders you created and moved mail into. So no loss
