Need help synching Yahoo email between Mac, iPad, iPhone

After having shut down my new Mac (with M1 chip), I have email problems with Yahoo. I access Yahoo email through my browser (set to yahoo as home page) on the Mac, and it is my primary email on my iPhone and iPad. This has always worked. Since restarting my Mac, I receive emails on all three devices, but when I read and/or delete on any one of the devices, those changes do not appear on the other two. So...I routinely check email on my iPad, now I have 100s of unread and not deleted email on the Mac and iPhone. I am logged into iCloud, and as far as I can tell everything else works fine; texts, etc. Any advice would be appreciated.

We understand that you want your Yahoo email to mark read emails as read on all of your Apple devices when you read the email on one of the devices. We are happy to help.

Is sounds like you set up your Yahoo email account as POP on your Apple devices. To accomplish what you want, we recommend setting up your Yahoo email as IMAP on all of your Apple devices. Please go to the section titled “Mail Settings Lookup” here to enter your Yahoo email for the IMAP settings: Mail - Official Apple Support
