Help - Ejecting an external hard drive

I do not find a way to eject my WD My Passport Ultra from my MB Air.

I am unable to manually eject my external hard drive used to run TM. It is not on my desktop or in my devices, nor anywhere I look.

MacBook Air 13", macOS 10.15

Start Disk Utility (/Application/Utilities/Disk Utility.app) and look at the left side bar. Do you see your HDD?

If yes – unmount it and then you may disconnect it.

If no – select  -> About This Mac -> System Report -> Hardware. Do you see your HDD in USB or Thunderbolt section?

If yes – your HDD is present in OS X but not mount and not visible, in the Disk Utility.app too.

If no – your HDD not exists from OS X point of view.
