Is is possible to disable the "Click to Exit Full Screen" page when a video plays in full screen?

Hi all.

When playing a video in full screen, the video goes into a new space. That's good and all. However, the page from which the video is playing from goes totally unusable, with a blurred background of the webpage and a "Click to Exit Full Screen" in the middle. Why is it this way, and can it be disabled?

The reason this could be annoying is, when watching an educational video that references material from the original web page, you would have to exit full screen all together, and go back in, and wait for all those fancy animations to complete. It's not about a couple of wasted seconds; It's about breaking the flow of thoughts, although those few wasted seconds do add up in a long video.

Appreciate all inputs and help in advance.

You are welcome. It is a workaround, but if you open the same web site in 2 different tabs, then start the video in one tab, and when you need to see the web site, switch to the other tab, does that help?

Thanks for the reply.

Yes. I'm fully comfortable with Spaces, and can't live without it. The problem is that the originating web page goes unusable, as shown in the screenshot above. So when the video mentions something in the webpage that I need to see, I would need to exit full screen to use the page again.

I'm not sure I totally understand, but can you switch spaces without changing the video by using the control key and left/right arrow to change spaces while leaving the video in full screen?

Wow! Great out of the box thinking.

It's a nice workaround. It would help on most occasions I'd say.

I'd keep this thread open to see more ideas like this, or possibly a permanent hack.
