iPod Classic 160 GB (Late 2009)

Hey hey everybody, I'm having problems with my iPod and years of storing music & files has deleted but it still appears in the memory storage as having 130 GB filled, although it says [no music] and it all my music is gone with the wind. When I tried to connect it, I refused to restore it and now it got to the point that it won't even start up and gives me a big red X and it says [www.apple.com/support/ipod] and its a feeling very similar to losing a close relative or ending a long marriage. A relationship that you invested over a decade of time & energy into, just to watch it leave so unexpectedly on its own will. Help, apple community! I need my baby back! love y'all. be aafe during these pandemic times.

The hard drive has probably failed. See If you see a red X icon on your iPod classic or iPod nano (5th generation or earlier) - Apple Support (archived copy). You could consider swapping out the drive with some form of SD adaptor kit.
