My MacBook Pro is not charging through its USB-C port. Please help!

If further assistance is needed, it would be helpful to know the following information:

• Do you have multiple USB-C charging ports? If so, is the issue related to a single port or all ports?
• Have you tried plugging in to a different power outlet?
• Do you have another USB-C charger to test with?
• Is there anything on the display when the USB-C charger is plugged in or does it remain black?

turn the battery management feature off which was introduced on Catalina 10.15.5 and shut down the Mac for at least 1 day. this solved the issue for me.
