Anyone find a fix for High Sierra not allowing mouse keyboard to wake iMac? Where is Apple on this issue!!??

I waited forever to update to high Sierra...my machine was working perfect before I installed HS. now, I get the spinning wheel and it won't wake from from sleep using mouse or keyboard. I have to press power button then wait for it to reboot.

That is not normal behavior for High Sierra.

Wake from sleep:

Are you using wired or bluetooth mice/keyboards? If bluetooth have you tried wired? (Also what Den said).

Have you tried resetting the SMC per Apple's sleep support article: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204760

Spinning wheel:

What OS did you upgrade from? If you made the jump from Yosemite or older be aware that HS is more demanding and you may need to either install more RAM or use an SSD.

Also do problems persist when restarting in safe mode? https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201262

For more specific advise running Etrecheck and posting the results would help provide us more context.

I have a Apple keyboard wired and a wireless Apple Mouse. I reset SMC and NVRAM. I upgraded from Sierra. I have the full 32gb memory this one will allow and 3.5 GHZ Intel core i7 processor, its an older machine late 2013. I did just replace at Apple the hd which died. That is when I had them upgrade the software. Since then it won't wake unless power all the way off and back on. I do not have fire vault activated. I do have the mouse set to wake from sleep. I had a seagate external drive hooked up and I did disconnect it thinking maybe that is the problem but it is not. It still won't wake if it has been in sleep all night.
