Why is my phone saying not enough space to back up on I cloud when it’s only used 4.3 mb but it keeps redirecting me to buy more storage space

If you only have 5GB of space, you are most likely not going to have enough space for the next backup, that’s why.
Check Settings>Your Name>iCloud>Manage Storage>Backups>Your Device. In the next window you will see the size of your next backup and the backup size of the device. It takes a while for that whole page to load so wait until it does to see the next backup size.
