My time capsule says last backup was Feb. 25, 2020.
Every time I click back up now, it doesn't back up.

Hold down the option key on your Mac while you click on the Time Machine "clock" icon at the top of the screen
Click on Verify Backups
The process might take anywhere from 10-60 minutes or more depending on how much data is stored on the Time Capsule hard drive. Let the process run until it complete or you receive an error message.
Post back on your results. If an error message appears, please post back with the exact message that you see
You can check on the progress of the process from time to time by holding down the option key and clicking on the Time Machine clock icon.
I tried to take a picture of the error message that came up and it will not send.
But the message says make sure the computer and your back up disk are on the same network and at the back up disk is turned on. Then try again to verify your backups.
I have no clue how to figure out if they are on the same network or not I just assume they are
Let's make sure that your Time Capsule is currently selected as a backup destination for Time Machine backups. To do that......
Click on the Time Machine "clock" icon the top of the Mac's screen
Click on Open Time Machine Preferences
Click on Add or Remove Disk
Check to make sure that the Time Capsule disk.......likely named "Data", unless you changed the name of the drive......is selected as the current destination for Time Machine backups
Close the windows
If yes........
Power off the Time Capsule by pulling the power cord from the back of the device or from the AC wall socket
Wait 20-30 seconds
Power up the Time Capsule again
Restart your Mac
Try to run the Verify Backups check again
Report on your results
I clicked "select disk"
There's a box that says
backup disks
DATA..........
Available disks
Other airport time capsule
Then, what do I click?
Also, there is a orange blinking light on the front of my time capsule- does that mean anything?
There's a box that says
backup disks
DATA..........
Then that tells you that DATA (the Time Capsule disk) is setup as the backup destination.......and there is another issue that is preventing backups from occurring.
Then, what do I click?
No, close the window(s).
Also, there is a orange blinking light on the front of my time capsule- does that mean anything?
Did this just start, or has the light been blinking amber all along?
Open AirPort Utility on your Mac...........(Finder > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility)
Click on the picture of the Time Capsule, and another small window will appear
Look for a listing of Status, and click on the small amber dot there. Another window will open up with a message. Post back with the exact text.
That message might provide a clue on why backups are not running. We'll see.
Next item......your profile indicates that you are using operating system 10.14.x (Mohave). Is the Mac still running Mohave or have you installed the newer 10.15.x (Catalina)?
