Play/playhead issue with Logic Pro X 10.5

This morning I was working on a project on Logic before the new update. I had no idea about the new update today. For absolutely no reason Logic decided to quit my current session and update on its own to 10.5. When I opened Logic back up, I had to give it permission and it told me "welcome to Logic Pro X" even though I've already used it? Anyways, everything seemed fine with my projects however about 3 minutes in I noticed I wasn't able to play anything. The playhead was stuck. The weird thing is that I'm able to press the record button and it plays fine. I opened a new project and tried to investigate this further. I found out that the playhead actually works fine when there's no notes, but as soon as there are MIDI notes it immediately stops playing. I don't know how to fix this.

Hi,

talked to apple support (Germany). They say its a software problem with 10.5 and the only thing we can do now is a bug report on this site.... -.-

The Logic Team need to receive a lot bug reports now! ;) So that they realize how important that bugfix is.

I completely understand where you're coming from and I agree. I was cursing their name. The fact that they released 10.5 without thorough testing is really upsetting. I understand their engineering team doesn't have a large enough base to have enough computers to necessarily notice this bug, but that's my point. They should enlist some of us to beta test their versions before releasing it so we can say things like "no don't do this, it will significantly inhibit the ability of many of your customers to create art". I also agree with the ability to download previous versions. That should always be the case, but especially when the most recent release was a bunch of cool features with the overall software not being sufficiently tested. I am able to make music again because I happened to have a Time Machine backup. Apple OBVIOUSLY has the version 10.4.8, and was that offered to me? No. So anybody who doesn't have Time Machine is screwed. I've been using Logic since I was a child but honestly this makes me rethink whether or not I should continue to purchase new versions.

Yess! I am also desperate at thus point!!

Logic has become useless and I am on a tight deadline!!! This is so frustrating I am seriously considering switching to Cubase after so many issues. Apple!! You need to get it together because even if I have been a most loyal advocate of your products for years, this is serious professional hindrance which could cost me big!!

I've been working back on 10.4.8 and now I have an issue where Logic seems to randomly Low Cut certain tracks. I'll be playing a song and the kick will almost entirely go away and there is no automation data or any plugin which is doing that. I know it's a bug because if I open the project, play it and it works, then I make no changes, I play it again and it doesn't work. It sucks but I know I'm gonna have to switch DAWs.

That doesn't fix the bug where the playhead jumps back and doesn't play. Even turning off Preroll, Plugin Compensation, etc doesn't result in the playhead going... it just plays one note and hangs there. Bug is exclusive to Logic Pro X 10.5.0 -- using 10.4.8 8 hours a day for a week has never produced the glitch. Other ones are still present, but not the No Play glitch haha

It's been over a week or more and no response from Apple. I take back what I said about them being communicative. It's great that they called me once, but if they have my number they should call again. If I don't answer the call never calling again is unacceptable (sometimes people go to the bathroom etc). I mean if I try to have somebody come over to trim my trees and I call him and there's no answer, well I call back. The fact that Apple didn't is inexcusable. They clearly do not care about their customers (although we've all known that now for a while). May the old Apple we used to love rest in peace.
