Ghost Touches & Unresponsive Screen

My iPhone 5 is experiencing severe ghost touches with the screen being unresponsive to touches many-a-times and I'm not able to use it properly and while charging the ghost touches increase drastically. Also, around 1 year ago water got lodged into the screen, but, the problem started to take place 2 months ago.

Hello dudehrithik007!

I see that you're having trouble with the display on your iPhone.

I'd like to see if the issue can be isolated. For example, does it happen without a screen protector or case attached? Also try disconnecting any accessories that you may have connected to the iPhone to see if the display still has these issues.

If you're still having trouble, please follow the advice in the section titled "If your screen is too sensitive or responds intermittently to touch" from this article: If the screen isn’t working on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support.

Take care.

Thank You for helping!

Yes, it happens even after removing the case and the screen protector and I do not have any other accessories attached.

And I have also noticed sometimes that if I leave it untouched for hours then it works almost fine from 5 min to 1 hr, then after that it again starts the bad behavior. Also, sometimes the touch takes place even without touching the screen like just hovering the finger over the screen also causes random touches and touches just below the hovering.
