Can I keep my non-Apple Mac applications in iCloud?

At one point Adobe advised against keeping catalogs on any cloud service. A catalog is not a simple set of files and there is a risk for corruption. I would test with a small "throw-away" catalog first.

You should be able to store the files in iCloud Drive. Have you tried dragging a file into iCloud Drive in the Finder Sidebar to see if it will upload?
