Macbook Pro battery not charging pass 83% after OS update

After updating Macbook Pro to the latest patch, battery stops charging to full 100%. It stops at 83% - saying "battery not charging". Only when the battery goes way lower than 83% it would then charge up to that.


It is an older MacBook model, MacBook Pro9,2 at 13" with DVD RW drive. MacOS Catalina, version 10.15.4.

Thanks for your post! I see that your MacBook Pro will not charge beyond 83%.


Try resetting the SMC of your MacBook Pro; refer here:


How to reset the SMC of your Mac


If the issue is still persisting, I suggest you Contact Apple Support for hardware diagnostics.
