MacBook Pro M1 Max not charging battery in Monterey 12.3.1

Try the following:

▷ Update macOS.

▷ Try Safe Mode.

▷ Use Apple Diagnostics to test your Mac.

If that does not help, then get expert service and support at the Genius Bar.

The rule of thumb is—

if you are near the mains leave it plugged in, if you need the portability then run on battery only—

Even at 68% or less battery charging doesn't start after updating to Monterey 12.3.1.
