How do I make Foxit Reader the default PDF viewer in MacBook Air?

How do I make Foxit Reader the default PDF viewer in MacBook Air? I have followed instructions on making Foxit Reader the default PDF viewer, but I get an error message 'Set Default Reader Fail'. I prefer working with Foxit Reader than IOS Preveiw.

Could be the odd name reader is not yet up-to-date for latest version Catalina macOS.

There may be some ideas on their own web site; as the default for macOS is Preview.

Read online there is (or will be) a new version Acrobat w/ pdf reader ~ perhaps that's real?

Several workaround are already in modern macOS; while I'm a few versions behind, do OK.

Otherwise I've no answer; several items appeared in duckduckgo search.

Maybe try "Other" and see if you can select Foxit in new panel.

Good luck & happy trails!🌻🌤
