iPhone X will not connect to my Windows 10 PC

I recently updated my iTunes and had some difficulty. The previous version of iTunes would not uninstall. I kept working with Task Explorer to get the installation to stop so I could manually uninstall the old iTunes. Now that the updated version of iTunes is installed, my PC (windows 10) will not recognize my iPhone X. I have tried all USB ports, uninstalling and then reinstalling iTunes, resetting the privacy/location settings on the iPhone, restarting both the phone and computer. Nothing is working. I have backed up my iPhone on this computer before without a problem. I do not want to lose months of data to restore the factory settings on the iPhone but what other options do I have? I have too much on my phone to upload into the cloud. Could I airdrop everything to my iPad?

Thanks in advance for your help.

That is not possible.

First, let’s be clear. The proper way to think about this is not “upload into the cloud”. You should instead be doing an iCloud backup. Here is how.

Regarding space for this backup, you are given 5GB of iCloud storage for no charge. If you need more space, you may rent it.
