Is it bad to use my iPad while it is charging?

iPad’s system software uses an algorithm that will attempt to intelligently charge your iPad’s battery. The type of battery that is inside iPad can become damaged if its charge level stays at 100% for a long period of time. iPad will intelligently attempt to discharge and recharge the battery from ~90% to 100% whenever it thinks it may be attached to its charger for a long period of time. This appears to be expected behavior. If you do believe there is a hardware failure then I suggest reaching out to Apple.

It’s not bad to use your iPad while it’s charging. This is something I have done with all my iPads and they have never given me a problem when doing so. The iPad is going to stop charging the battery when it is full and the only thing that is going to happen if you’re using it while it is charging is it may take a bit longer for it to fully charge.

Leaving it to charge overnight isn’t going to harm it either, however, I wouldn’t suggest keeping it plugged in all the time. Keeping a battery fully charged all the time can shorten the life span of the battery. They are most comfortable between 30% and 70% charge
