Moved countries & cannot update payment method due to annual app subscription

I am desperately hoping someone can help me!
I moved from USA to Australia earlier this year, and I've now closed my USA credit card that was linked to my Apple ID. I also have an app that in August 2019 I paid for an annual subscription, so it doesn't expire until August 2020.
Because of this yearly subscription I am unable to update my Country on my Apple ID, and therefore am unable to update my payment method do my Australian Credit Card. Because my Apple ID country is USA, my Australian credit card will not allow me to use it on my account.
Does anyone know what I can do? Is there any way to DELETE this annual subscription from my account? I've cancelled the subscription, but because the expiry is not until August I cannot actually remove it from my account until it expires.
I do not have another USA payment method to add to my account until August 2020, and I am unable to use my App Store, iCloud storage or anything until I can update my payment method (which I cannot do until I have updated my country, which I supposedly cannot do until this app subscription has expired).
I have called apple support and they said there's nothing I can do (but, I'm skeptical if thats actually true the person I spoke to was pretty unhelpful and didn't seem to care very much that I basically can't use my App Store)
I'm praying that someone can tell me how I can have this subscription removed from my account...?
