Gift card
Why would You allow accumulation of a child buying coins and over spend their gift card.. know you got charges on the account that is over the amount of the gift card. Why??

Gift Cards should not be able to be overdrawn. Charges may have been incurred to your other payment methods, check the steps over at See your purchase history for the App Store or iTunes Store – Apple Support to check how charges were applied to your account. Charges made from Gift Cards will be listed as "Billed to Store Credit."
I'd recommend you Contact Apple Support if you have any issues with the balance of the account.
