Special characters on Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro?

Normally, long pressing a key on an Apple Keyboard or iOS opens up the special characters options. This isn’t happening on the new Magic Keyboard in its default state. Is there a setting that needs to be switched on?

Where’s the option to turn on this feature in the Magic Keyboard?

Hardware keyboards do not have that feature yet in iOS. To ask Apple to add it, go to

I stated that pressing ⌥ (Option) + E would enter the accent mark input selection which then would allow the user to strike the key they would like to add the accent mark to. How is my instructions different than yours?

But that is not actually what you stated. You said " to type é you would press ⌥ + E." When you do that, all you get is ´ and not é. In the future, I suggest you always add the part about then " strike the key they would like to add the accent mark to" to avoid possible misunderstanding.
