Should I purchase any of the Apple Watch series?

Hello! I've really been looking forward to start running again, so I can get into better shape. When I do start, I will be running outdoors, not in a gym due to the pandemic we're going through right now and because I feel much better running outdoors. So, if I'm going to be running outdoors, I really would not like to carry my phone with me, but since I have to stay cautious of my surroundings, I need something I can easily have on hand to call or text. I know the Apple Watch (gps+cellular) is capable of doing this, but the only problem I have right now is the music part. I cannot be out on my own without music, so I was wondering: is it possible to listen to music on an Apple Watch without bluetooth earphones?

A few things.

As mentioned, you can use just about anyone's Bluetooth headphones. The fun part if finding the instructions that put the headphones into "Discover" mode so that they can pair. In your case you should still have the instructions when you open the box 😀

You will need an iPhone 6s, SE (1 or 2), 7 or newer, running iOS 13 or newer.

The Cellular Apple Watch shares the iPhone's phone number.  This requires the iPhone cellular carrier to support the Apple Watch.  The iPhone carrier charges a monthly fee for this service.  In the U.S. the fee is $10 per month added to your iPhone bill.

iPhone Cellular Carriers that support the Apple Watch, which models, the radio frequencies each model uses, and the country where they offer service:

Your carrier Must be listed by name in the above link. NVMO's that piggy back on another carriers network, unless explicitly mentioned, do not support the Apple Watch.

Re: deggie

Have you found it difficult to put BT headphones in pairing mode? I never have.

Yes. I had 2 sets of 15 year old bluetooth headphones, and I had to google the internet to find an instruction manual for them. The press and hold the correct button for the correct amount of time until the correct light started flashing.

It was most annoying. But I did figure it out.

My Airpods were the easiest, and my Sony Noise Canceling Headphones were 2nd easiest, because I still had the instructions.

And the smaller the headphones, the more obtuse the finger gymnastics.

Plus in these forums, there are people that claim the Apple Watch will not pair to their headphones, and then you ask if they put the headphone into "Discovery" mode, and find out they did not. It is worth mentioning "Discovery" mode to save future unhappiness.
