MacBook Pro screen won’t turn on

The last time I brought my MacBook Pro laptop in because my screen did want to turn on. They unplugged and replug the battery for the screen to turn on. My question is can I do that on my own at home myself or do I need to bring it in. I already did all the instructions to turn on a blank screen.

Hello Shayleen,

Does your MacBook Pro have a removable battery? A removable battery is held in its place with two clipping slide grips on each side. You do not have to open the case of the MacBook Pro. If you have a removable battery then you can simply release the two slide grips and the battery will drop out. After that you place the battery back into into its slot and lock the slide grips.

If your MacBook Pro is newer and DOES NOT have a removable battery then do not attempt to do this by yourself. That is my recommendation.

I know you said that you tried all the troubleshooting steps however would like you to try ➔ Resetting the SMC after reading about the proper way of performing it based on your model of MacBook Pro.
