When using my Apple ear buds and adapter my podcast stops and jumps around

When using my Apple ear buds and adapter my podcast jumps around to other podcasts, goes to Siri and sometimes stops. Is this something with the adapter?

“Hey Siri, play white noise” not working properly Hi everyone! I use Homepod’s White Noise ambient sound every night to get a good night sleep in my city apartment. Usually, I ask Siri to play white noise and she will put on Apple’s continuous ambient sound, but lately, she will use media from Apple Music (*not* my library, i don’t have any white noise media in my library) instead of playing an Apple ambient sound. Now, every night I have to say “Hey Siri, play an ambient sound” over and over until she randomly selects White Noise. When I ask Siri to “play white noise ambient sound” she will still randomly select an ambient sound. So, i’m stuck with either a random ambient noise or some random lullaby/30 minute song from Apple Music. Has anyone else experienced this?

Siri voice volume on HomePod The volume of Siri’s voice changes with the volume set for music instead of staying the same. This is really frustrating because when you ask Siri a question the music volume automatically dipped. If the music isn’t playing there is no other noise in the room so all you get is an amplified voice yelling at you. Apple says to adjust the volume while Siri is speaking by using the - + on the top of HomePod but these disappear when Siri is speaking. Is there a fix to this problem?

HomePod mini no longer playing podcasts Using the HomePod mini, Siri will no longer play any Podcast . When requested, replies “Sorry, there was a problem with Apple Podcast”. I believe this is likely linked to the latest update 15.1, as podcasts have broken since this update. Without this feature, I have little reason to use the mini at home. Questions: Is there a solution or workaround? Is this issue widespread? Is there an incoming patch? Any info appreciated :)

I have now been able to narrow down the problem (podcasts jumping around and stopping) to my apple adapter. I don’t need the adapter for my iPad and I don’t have a problem. When I used the adapter on my IPad, it starts jumping around again. The adapter is about 2 years old. Would it do any good to by another adapter or should I buy new EarPods?
