Spotify / Apple Watch / Wireless Headphones

I’m now realizing that my assumption was probably wrong when I purchased my watch but I figured I’d ask the question to see if I’m wrong or to confirm. I just recently got the series 5 Apple Watch with cellular and thought that since it had a cellular network connected to it that I could listen to Spotify through my Bose Soundsport wireless headphones without my phone being there (Yes I have already set up the cellular network with my phone provider). I’ve tried almost everything to try to get it to work but no luck. Am I wrong to think that if there’s no way to be able to stream music that having the cellular portion on the Apple Watch is kinda pointless? I know it’s a watch and I’m not expecting it to be a full on smartphone that you can slap on your wrist but I still think it’s a little crazy that you can’t.
