Numbered headings in Pages?

Is there any way to number my headings in Pages?

I'd like it to be like this:

  1. Heading

Lorem ipsum

1.1 Heading

Dolor sit amet

1.1.1 heading

merol muspi

2. Heading

rolled tis tema

and so on....

Is there any way to achieve this?

Hey there zebscy,

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. I understand you want to number your Pages headings in a specific format. I’ll be happy to help.

For basic info on adding and editing headers and footers in Pages on your Mac, you can refer to the Pages User Guide. This link takes you to the info on headers and footers in the guide:

Hi zebscy,

Thank you for your reply. Headers and footers, though, are a different subject entirely. If you have a better solution than a Tiered list, then I'd be very happy to try it out.

I do not think that Headers and Footers are relevant to your original question. There are page headers and footers (top and bottom of a page), and table header and footer rows (top and bottom of a table). I really think that Tiered Number Lists are what will work for you.

Ian.
