There is no way around unlocking Activation Lock without inserting the device’s associated Apple ID. If this is not an option you will have to find the original receipt for the device that clearly shows the serial number. Once you have this document you can have Apple unlock your iPad.

This is not sufficient. Activation Lock is an anti-theft system. If someone had stolen this iPad, they would have access to the serial number on the device and the box (if they had stolen the box as well). Only the original purchase receipt shows that indeed you are the one who purchased this iPad. Without the receipt Apple will treat this iPad as if it were stolen and will not help you.
Does the original box have the serial number?
