The track pad on my (late 2019) MacBook Pro w/Catalina is VERY SENSITIVE. Even after changing the settings in Sys Pref to FIRM CLICK all it takes is a very light touch to click. Unfortunately, since Washington State is still in lockdown from the Corona Virus, I can't take it into my local Apple store for help.

Make sure "Tap to click" isn't selected. Whether it is or not, toggle it anyway.
