Loss of performance when fan is active

Had the new MacBook Air about a week and the fan seems to be hyperactive, and when it’s on full I lose all performance, just wondering if this is a common problem and if anything can be done myself?

MacBook Air 13", macOS 10.15

Are you doing any extensive tasks eg:Video editing, Photoshop,Graphic design,etc
