Apple pay - Unable to add a new Mastercard

I had my wallet stole a while back and was issued with new credit cards, I've been able to add most of my new cards back to apple pay successfully, however whenever I try to add my new MasterCard, it still keeps the details of my old MasterCard (Stolen), and when I try and add a new card it says - "Your Issuer does not offer support for this card" - Which is clearly incorrect as I've previously had the TSB Mastercard linked to Apple pay. How do I remove this old information even though the old card is no longer in the Apple Wallet ?

  1. Sometimes if you sign out of your Apple ID and back in it resolves the problem.
  2. Check your Apple ID region to make sure it is correct. If it is correct, you may need to select the same region again. (Change your Apple ID country or region - Apple Support)
  3. Check the region on your device to ensure it is correct (Settings>general>language & region - set to your region)
  4. A passcode is required to use the Wallet app.
  5. You need to be in a region that supports Apple Pay - Countries and regions that support Apple Pay - Apple Support
  6. Your bank needs to support Apple Pay - Apple Pay participating banks - Apple Support
  7. If none of these suggestions are able to resolve your issue you can go here for further assistance - If you can't add cards to Wallet for Apple Pay - Apple Support

Hi Askbarnabas,

Thank you for your email and your suggestions, I'll respond to your suggestions most of which I have already done which have not resolved the issue.

  • If you are getting a message to contact the card issuer, call the bank or credit card company who issued you the card to make sure there are no restrictions on the card.

>> I am not getting any restrictions with the new card, the information from the old card is cache'd somewhere which is causing the problem.

>> My new card is associated with my Appleid and it works fine, it is just Apple Pay on my iPhone there's a problem with

  • If you are getting a message that Apple Pay services are unavailable at this time, sign out of your Apple ID and back in.

>> I have signed in and out several times - this makes no difference

>> I am very familiar with how the wallet works, I have been an iPhone and apple pay user for many years and have previously had multiple cards associated with no problems.

>> Again, I'm familiar with Apple Pay - My Credit card is supported, in my Appleid and on the Apple Pay list

  • If you have trouble adding a card to wallet;
  1. Sometimes if you sign out of your Apple ID and back in it resolves the problem

  1. Check your Apple ID region to make sure it is correct. If it is correct, you may need to select the same region again. (Change your Apple ID country or region - Apple Support)

>> My region is set correctly, and I have various other cards assigned

  1. Check the region on your device to ensure it is correct (Settings>general>language & region - set to your region)

A passcode is required to use the Wallet app.

>> I am currently using my wallet with other cards and it is working fine

  1. You need to be in a region that supports Apple Pay - Countries and regions that support Apple Pay - Apple Support

>> I am currently using my wallet with other cards and it is working fine

  1. Your bank needs to support Apple Pay - Apple Pay participating banks - Apple Support

>> I am currently using my wallet with other cards and it is working fine and the CC I am having problems with is supported, and is associated with my Appleid.

From my perspective, the old CC information is being cache'd stored somewhere and I'm unable to remove this information.

I'm hoping with this new information you may be able offer some other remedies.

Thanks

LG

Hi Zinacef,

Thanks for your reply but I'm a little unclear why I would need to call Mastercard when I have managed to replace all my previous cards. Mastercard is not related to Apple pay on my iPhone so I'm sure they would not be able to assist, and also when it fails to add the new card it provides a list of supported cards and TSB MasterCard is one.

The problem is, is that the old Mastercard information is retained / cached somewhere on the iPhone and I need to locate this to be able to remove/replace it, the Key point here is the iPhone is the problem as on my actual apple id have have successfully changed to my new card.
