Blue Yeti Microphone Suddenly Sounds Faint on MBP 13 2019. Blue Yeti Factory Reset?
I got a brand-new Blue Yeti USB microphone a few days back. Worked perfectly with my MacBook Pro 13-inch 2019 (OS Catalina 10.15.4).
Then, from one day to the other, my voice sounds faint via the mic. Initially, I had to dial back "gain" and also keep the input volume on my Mac sound settings at around 80% because the Yeti sounds so powerful.
Now, even with gain and input volume at max levels, my voice is barely audible unless I put the mic 5 cm from my face (previously, 50 cm distance would still be fine).
- I did not change any settings
- I checked all cables
- Mic is not muted
- I tried the mic with a different MacBook (MacBook Air 2012)
- I performed a NVRAM reset on both MacBooks
I would hope that the mic did not just die on me after just five days... I wonder if there is a way to perform some sort of factory reset on the Yeti?
Or, since the Yeti does not come with any drivers, if there might be any files in the library which, once deleted, might have a positive effect on the Blue Yeti microphone?
Any suggestion will be most welcome!
