I have a new series 5 watch and have a iphone X. I am trying to install the compass app on the watch and am getting the message requires iphone. They are paired. Any ideas?

The series 5 watch should have the compass app IF it is also on your iPhone:

The app is not on my iphone or the watch. Both have current iOS. When I try to download the app on the watch it tells me that it requires iphone. It is linked to the phone.
I have no clue what is going on.
Tried all those before posting my inquiry. The app is not on the watch or phone. All OSs are current and both devices have been restarted, When I download the app on the watch (and it's not available on the phone) the message I get is iphone required.
I'm not sure if the compass is the only one missing but I am looking into it.
If the compass app is on your phone then uninstall it and reinstall it again,this also installs the compass app on the watch.
Go to the app store on the phone and download the compass app there.
