Dell E2318H display to my MacBook Pro retina 2015 through a HDMI to VGA (No VGA signal error message)

Trying to connect a display E2318H to my MacBook Pro 13" retina display 2015 through a HDMI to VGA converter, but as soon as I plug the monitor...my MacBook pro screen stars flickering and the display keeps saying that there is no VGA signal...PLEASE HELP

HDMI has nothing in common with VGA. I would not be surprised if such an adapter did not work properly.


But to have any chance at all, you need to un-check:


[√] Mirror displays

... or use Command-F1 to toggle that setting.


You should have much better luck with a ThunderBolt-2/Mini DisplayPort to VGA adapter.
