Apple ID verification - Enter password

I have an Iphone8 and have a recurring problem that dates back to at least two prior phones, possibly three. As you can see in the pictures, it's (CONSTANTLY) prompting me to enter a password for a user ID (which no longer exists).

It took me forever to find a support rep who *thinks* he knows the problem.

My original Itunes user ID (Jers***********@bellsouth.net) was what I had maybe 3 phones ago. I have since changed user ID's via Apple (its now Jets******@bellsouth.net).

I spoke with apple. The rep suggested that *each time* I did a restore of an OLD phone to a NEW, it's carrying over apps that were downloaded and/or updated under the OLD (now defunct) Itunes username.

SO he said the only solution is to delete the apps one by one, and reinstall them. I've done about 40, but the problem (shown in the pics) still persists. I keep getting pop ups to "sign in" to the old ID, which is of course impossible,

as it's been deleted. I'm guessing it's a pre-installed program, like music, maybe even the calendar, the phone book, etc...

I'm thinking of just saying the **** with it, and doing a complete restore.

Here's my questions(s).

1) The only apps I NEED to keep are my phone book, and my text messages. Everything else, though a pain in the rear end, can be re-installed. I've seen online where those apps (music, tet, etc) will restore themselves, but I'm not sure I believe them. Will they?

2) My home button crapped out a few months back, so I have the fake home button. It works but does not read thumnprint. I have seen a few spots online that reccomend against resetting if the thumb home button is broken, ad the phone *needs* that to restore. Is that correct or incorrect.

Apps are forever tied to the Apple ID ACCOUNT that was used to download them or purchase them. Note that the account is not the same as the Apple ID email address; the email address is really just the “user name” for the account. You can change the email address (and thus user name) on an account and keep the account. But apparently you didn’t do that; you created a new Apple ID rather than just change the email address of the account that was used to download those apps. The only solution is to delete all apps downloaded with the old Apple ID account, then download them using your current Apple ID account.

So I've deleted and re-downloaded ALL apps with the exception of my contacts, and music (both are pre-installed). Could it be data from music, or my pictures?

At this point, all I need is a way to keep my music, and my contacts and text to do a complete restore. Is there a way (without using the backup feature via Itunes, which would likely defeat the purpose of a reset) to move those off the phone then back?

Also - is there any truth to the possibility I wouldn't be able to do a hard restore if the home button is the replacement kind?
