OS Catalina will connect for printing but not scanning on HP HP Officejet 9020 and neither will image capture but will connect with older HP printer models for both printing and scanning. Any known work around or pending solution?

I have already done that with HP and they advise that Apple will not allow third party apps which is why I was looking for a work around or for Apple to work something out with HP (slim hope). I can print OK but not scan, which to my old brain is rather odd. I'll take a look at VueSan and see if that can solve a problem for me (and no doubt others).

Thanks again Kappy, VueScan works for me. What a pity Apple and HP can't talk to each other about this, it is a problem that has been going on for quite some time according to there similar posts.
Check with HP's tech support. Be sure you have downloaded and installed any scanning software they provide. You might also check out VueScan.
