Apple Watch Offline Music Support

Hi there. I hope everyone is well.

I recently purchased the 3rd edition of the apple watch. It is paired with my iphone SE (the older version).

My phone has very limited space, with currently less than 1GB freely available. Therefore I cannot fit any music songs onto my phone. I usually use online services for music streaming, and I have them downloaded on my ipad for offline use.

I was wondering if it is possible to save songs offline onto the watch, so that I may listen while going out for exercise without having to bring my ipad?

I'm aware that if the music is on the phone, it can be synced to the watch. But I don't have any storage space on my phone. Are there any other offline options?

How to sync music to your Apple Watch

  1. Set your Apple Watch on its charger and make sure that it is charging. Make sure that your iPhone is within range of your watch.
  2. On your iPhone, go to Settings > Bluetooth. Make sure that Bluetooth is turned on.
  3. On your iPhone, open the Apple Watch app, then tap the My Watch tab.
  4. Scroll to Music and tap it, then tap  Add Music.
  5. Find the music that you want to sync. Tap the add button  next to the music that you want. If you can't add specific albums or playlists, try downloading them to your iPhone before you sync with your watch.

Following these steps will let you listen to music on your Apple Watch while offline. All you need is a pair of Bluetooth headphones to listen. This doesn't save the music to your iPhone.

Hi!

On my phone, in the watch app, in the my watch tab, there is no music icon to select the option of. I had to download the apple music app on my phone for this to show up. When I pressed the + Add Music, there was nothing to choose from. I presume this is because there is no music on my phone. Once again like I said, I don't have space on my phone to download some music.

If I were to make space, download music, sync it to my watch and then delete it from my phone, will it stay on the watch?
