Apple Email -Payment Info
I received an email saying there was a problem with my payment information? Is it valid? I received a case number but I do not feel it is a valid Apple email.

No. That is a fraud eMail
Apple will not tell you upfront that you have a problem with your payment. And, moreover, they will not give you a Case Number out of nowhere.
So...
- Forward: the message to Apple at reportphishing@apple.com
- Trash: the message
- Remove: the message from Trash and Archive mailboxes
