I have a gmail account on my older iPad mini which my apple mail program can access, and I can get mail on that device. I want to access it from my iPhone, but I no longer remember the gmail password. Is there a way to recover that password from the iPad mini? I tried recovering through gmail but for some reason it won’t confirm I own the gmail account.

If you used iCloud Keychain then it can be accessed in Settings > Passwords & Accounts.
