+ sign not visible to create new group for my 'contacts' on iphone

This has NOTHING to do with email and is solely related to 'creating new contacts group' on my iphone.

I cannot see a + sign to add a new contact group when looking at the phone.

  1. All the help articles state the function must be done by logging into icloud website, and clicking on 'Contacts'. Sadly there is NO 'contacts' anywhere on the icloud page once logged in.
  2. I have all contacts visible, and all current groups are enabled to view in my settings. There's just no way to add a new group....... The + sign for new groups isn't visible when in the 'Groups' listing, and ALL of the existing group contacts are currently ticked.

I've already spent considerable time and effort researching and always come up with a problem on all of the offered solutions to date.

Thx in advance for your help and time.

Hi debgary11,

Thanks for the post. Contact groups are a great feature. I understand you're not able to create new groups from your iPhone.

First, you mentioned you don't have an option for Contacts on the iCloud website. Based on that, it sounds like you might be logging in using a web browser on your iPhone. Try signing in from a web browser on your computer, and you should then have the Contacts option: Create a group of contacts on iCloud.com

Otherwise, regarding creating groups on your iPhone itself, what you describe sounds normal. You can create groups for Contacts using either iCloud.com as shown in the link above, or from a Mac: Create groups of contacts in Contacts on Mac. If creating groups on your iPhone is a feature you'd like to see, you can always send your suggestion to Apple here: Product Feedback

Have a good one.

Hello debgary11,

Thank you for replying. To clarify, you're saying you sign in to iCloud.com on your PC and you don't have an option for Contacts, and it's happening with multiple browsers. Is that right?

It's normal that you wouldn't see the Contacts option if you tried logging in from your iPhone as you mentioned, but you should see Contacts from most web browsers on a PC. Do you happen to have another PC available that you could test?

Also, what exactly are you seeing instead of Contacts? Do you see the other options, like Photos or Calendars?

Take care.
