Yahoo Email continual spinning gear in iPad Mail app since 13.5 update

This is maddening. I’ve never had any previous issues with my two Yahoo mail accounts in the Mail app until the iPad OS 13.5 update. Now, when I open the Mail app, the gear on the top right continually spins.

I’ve narrowed it down to the two Yahoo Mail accounts, because when I disable or delete those two accounts the gear stops spinning immediately. The remaining Exchange and Gmail account doesn’t cause this issue.

I’ve done all the troubleshooting, besides restoring the iPad. Is that my only option at this point? This isn’t occurring on my iPhone XR, btw.

I have and they say it’s an Apple issue. And you know what? I believe them. Because I’ve also noticed that all Mail in all accounts (Yahoo, Gmail, Exchange) never gets marked as Read. All remains Unread.

There’s an obvious issue or bug here. I’ve even restored my iPad, deleted/re-added the accounts...nothing fixes this behavior. My iPhone XR running 13.5 does not exhibit any of these issues.

This same problem has been happening from time to time with the Gmail accounts on my iPad. When it happens, I don't have issues accessing any of the emails in my Gmail accounts using the Mail app on my Mac, on my PC at work or even using Safari on the iPad, but the Mail app can go for days at a time showing only the spinning wheel of death with not a single email downloaded.

This problem is clearly NOT just Yahoo or just Gmail, and Apple support should be addressing it as a problem specific to the built-in iOS Mail app on the iPad.
